How to Make Coquilles Saint-Jacques

Coquilles Saint-Jacques is a French dish that consists of scallops cooked in a creamy sauce and baked in shells or ramekins. Here is a recipe that you can follow to make Coquilles Saint-Jacques at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound scallops
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped shallots
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-6 scallop shells or ramekins

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the shallots, garlic, and scallops for 2-3 minutes, until the scallops are cooked through.

Step 3

Add the white wine to the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the wine has reduced by half.

Step 4

Stir in the heavy cream, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.

Step 5

Divide the scallop mixture evenly among the scallop shells or ramekins.

Step 6

Place the shells or ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.

Step 7

Serve hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley and chives if desired.
